Gorgeous Getaway - Giraffe Manor

I can't really delve too deeply into Giraffe Manor because I get clinically depressed that I don't live there and wake up to a giraffe tongue in my ear through my bedroom window every morning. So I will let the pictures do most of the talking, except to tell you that it's a 1930's replica of a Scotting hunting lodge, on the outskirts of Nairobi - no doubt a gin-soaked malarial colonial thought that would be a good idea, and I'm so glad they did, because it's gorgeous and right up my alley. The former owners adopted and raised several of the very rare Rothschild giraffes to save them from extinction, and they now roam the grounds of the small luxury hotel, and peek their heads into the windows at random moments. Can you imagine? I can. And I do, quite a lot, and should I ever receive a windfall from some mysterious relative, or be hired to write travel reviews (hint hint!!) this is the first place I'm going. And I'll probably never leave. I've already picked out my room.

  1. Oh wow, that would be awesome to wake up to a giraffe peering through the windows, that is of course if it doesn't frighten you to death :0 )
